Sweet Grass County is truly where the plains become the Rockies! The Crazy Mountains and the Absaroka Beartooths surround us on three sides and the prairie lies to the east. Big Timber is the gateway to the Absaroka Beartooths Wilderness and has some of the best blue ribbon trout fishing in the state. Big Timber sits in the valley formed by the confluence of the Boulder River and the Yellowstone River allowing for many types of professions and providing tourists and residents with a variety of activities. Enjoy campgrounds, hiking, hunting, golfing, scenery, dining, and spirits!

In the spirit of the western tradition, the Sweet Grass County Chamber Commerce invites anyone visiting the Yellowstone Country area to join us in the cozy little log cabin that serves as our Visitor Information Center. While there enjoy a splendid view of the breathtaking Crazy Mountains from the covered porch. Inside absorb as much information as your heart desires from the wide variety of guides, brochures, and travel magazines about the area. Well informed Visitor Center staff are available to guide you to information and to answer any of your questions.
